Positive Future for Methode’s workers

News that Methode Electronics is increasing its investment in Malta and also increasing its employees by 100 is positive and augurs well for a better future in the manufacturing sector.

Zminijietna – Voice of the Left applauds Government and the General Workers’ Union for their role in this regard.

 “We endorse the contribution Government is giving to safeguard jobs in the manufacturing sector, as in the cases now of Trelleborg and Stainless Steel. The same can be said for General Workers’ Union which acted responsibly when it encouraged worker solidarity to choose a four-day working week instead of job redundancies.”

Zminijietna strongly encourages workers to join a trade union in order to safeguard their interest at the work place.

In work places where Union representation is high, register improved industrial relations and working conditions, whilst in individual contracts this is difficult to achieve. We hope that in the near future newly employed workers enjoy the same working conditions as those employed presently.

L-ahbar li l-Methode Electronics ser tespandi l-investiment f’Malta u li ser izzid il-haddiema hi wahda pozittiva u jawgura tajjeb ghall-futur tal-pajjiz fil-qasam tal-Manifattura.

Zminijietna – Lehen ix-Xellug fahret lill-Gvern u lill-General Workers' Unions ghar-rwol taghhom f'dan ir-rigward.

“Nappoggjaw il-kontribut li qed jaghti l-Gvern Malti bhalissa f’dan il-qasam sabiex jigu mharsa l-impjiegi fis-settur tal-Manifattura. L-istess jinghad ghall-General Workers' Union, li b’sens ta’ responsabilta u kawtela fehmet il-haddiema ta’ Methode Electronics sabiex b’solidarjeta flimkien jirrikorru ghal erbat ijiem xoghol fil-gimgha minflok ma jitnaqqsu l-haddiema'.

Zminijietna emfassizzat li l-haddiema ghandhom jissiehbu f’Unjin sabiex iharsu l-interessi taghhom  fuq il-post tax-xoghol.

'F’postijiet tax-xoghol fejn hemm rapprezentanza ta’ Unjin ir-relazjonijiet industrijali u l-kundizzjonijiet tax-xoghol tal-haddiema jitpoggew il-fuq fl-agenda tal-kumpanija, filwaqt f’kuntratti ndividwali difficli biex jsehh. Nawguraw li l-haddiema l-godda li ser timpjega l-kumpanija fil-futur qarib igawdu l-istess kundizzjonijiet ta’ xoghol li qed igawdu l-haddiema prezenti'.
